| One of my great motivators in starting this business has been my impatience with traditional portrait sessions. It wasn’t just the obnoxious wait for my already scheduled appointment, while my children grew restless, sleepy and hungry. I realized I was paying too much money, and wasting too much of my time, for pictures that I wasn’t in love with; pictures that didn’t encapsulate the true essence of my child. I realized that traditional portrait sessions didn’t suit my style of photography, nor did it capture the true spirit of my children. All of those things combined, led me to my new dream. My dream of being a Lifestyle Photographer, hoping to give other parents a chance to have their child be photographed in a way that shows their individuality – who they are in that moment and not just what they look like. Although I have no professional photography schooling, I do hold a degree in Elementary Education, and taught precious children for several years. This, I feel aids me in taking pictures...pictures of the shy, the excited and all the other fun emotions that come with children. You can expect your session to be a fun, relaxed time at your pick of location! I am a natural light photographer. Using natural light creates a more authentic looking photograph and it helps me capture your family’s true spirit. Black and white shots are my favorite, but I also incorporate color and other special film effects into sessions. I shoot on location – your home, favorite park, the beach – your pick! So, through the struggles and hours to get here, and with tremendous help and support from my husband and family, T.R. has become a reality for me, one that is treasured forever, for so many reasons. Enjoy your visit on my site, and be sure to check out my blog. —Tara Armstrong |
